Before you start: information you'll need to provide

The appeal form must be completed in one session. Partially completed forms cannot be saved and completed at a later time. Please note that the form will timeout after 30 minutes of inactivity. To save you time, please ensure you have the following information ready.
  • A digital copy of your decision notice. The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) will have sent you the decision notice. If this has been sent to you by post, you can create a digital copy by using a scanner to make an image of the notice letter, or you can take a photo of it with your phone. Please make sure the text on the image is readable.

    Note: appeals must be made within 3 months of the date of your decision notice. If the appeal is made outside of 3 months, you will be asked to explain why it was not made in time. Your explanation will be considered, and you will be advised if your appeal can be accepted.

    Note: If the decision notice states your proposal is invalid, you need to fill in an invalidity notice appeal form

  • Your contact information.

  • Your explanation of why you think the decision from the VOA is wrong. The explanation can be no more than 1200 characters in length. We recommend you take time to prepare this before starting this form.

  • You can also upload other documents to support your appeal.
